The CP Jungle is a grower and importer of rare and exotic plants
such as Nepenthes. We have been growing and propagating
these plants for over 30 years.

Update - July 7th, 2008
Hello Everyone!
Just a quick update to let everyone know that I will spend the rest of
today and part of tomorrow performing a review of every plant we have here
at the nursery. I will be re-sizing and releasing everything that is
ready. Also, tonite we should get confirmation on our additional
plants from Borneo Exotics, and I will update those plants on this page, as
well as make them available for pre-ordering.
Also, I will be releasing every form of Venus Flytrap we have here, as
well as resizing them. I will also make the VFT's that will be sold
based upon age available as well.
Update - July 6th, 2008
We have quite a few more plants that we have just reserved from Borneo
Exotics, and some of these I know you all have been waiting on. As
soon as we receive confirmation, I'll reveal them and make them available
for pre-ordering.
Also, we will be releasing the typical, dente, and red dragon flytraps
this week, as well as our age based flytrap stock. We were waiting for
the seed of these plants to ripen before making them available. We will
finish collecting the seeds over the next few days.
We are working with Stewart McPherson to bring in
his two new books; "Glistening Carnivores" and "Lost Worlds". We are
trying to nail down the shipping charges for the books to the U.S. As soon
as we figure it out, I will make the books available for pre-ordering.
I will also bring in a few copies of "Pitcher Plants of the Americas" and
the "Lost Worlds" DVD collection. Stewart is nearly sold out of these
last two items, and when they're gone, they will be gone.
It should be noted that books like these usually
greatly increase in value over time due to their limited production runs.
Charles Clarkes' "Nepenthes of Borneo" book that we imported a few years
back is now selling for $159 for a good used version. These books will make
excellent gifts for anyone who is interested in carnivorous plants.

Stewart Describes Lost Worlds as a study of the exploration and discovery
of the tepuis, and an overview of the natural history of the plateau
summits. The story of discovery spans 300 years, starting with Walter
Raleigh's quest for the golden city of El Dorado. It was Walter Raleigh who
first stayed at a tepuis at the end of the 16th century, however it took
almost three centuries for explorers to each the mountain summits. The world
atop of the tepuis that was found is a world of twisted stone, carnivorous
plants and orchids, and sparkling white quartz crystals. Surely one of the
most unusual corners of our world.
Anyone who is familiar with Stewart's "Pitcher Plants of the Americas"
book has seen the incredible section on Heliamphora's, which contain the
best photos I have seen of the plants in their natural setting. He
also included some photos of the tepuis themselves, which were absolutely
stunning. I'm glad to see a book on the tepuis, especially one that appears
to be so well done.

Stewart describes "Glistening Carnivores" as a look at the diversity and
ecology of the seven genera of sticky-leaved insect-eating plants (Byblis,
Drosera, Drosophyllum, Ibicella, Pinguicula, Roridula, Triphyophyllum). It
treats each genus in a manner similar to my last book, Pitcher Plants of the
Americas. With the smaller genera (i.e. Triphyophyllum, Ibicella etc.) all
of the member species are considered in detail seperately, but with the
larger genera (Drosera etc.) each sub group of species is examined in detail
with exemplary species described and illustrated. An ongoing motif through
the book is the beautiful, sparkling appearance of the foliage of the
plants' leaves, which of course, is an essential element in the trapping of
arthropod prey.
I hope to have pricing for all 3 books and the DVD collection in a couple
of weeks.
Because Robert Cantley will be exhibiting at the Singapore Gardens
Festival over the next few weeks, we have moved back our next import
shipment from Borneo Exotics to August 20th.
We were
able to secure a number of N. aristolochioides and N. inermis 'TALANG'.
These are available for pre-ordering. We were able to reduce the price of the N.
inermis of this form by $10 versus the Belirang form due to being able to secure
a large number of them.

We have been making some changes to our website design,
and we hope you will like the layout better.
We are now taking advance reservations for N. macrophylla and
seed grown N. hamata. Both of these species are $149.99. We are also still
taking advance reservations for N. xtrusmadiensis clone 1 & clone 2, and N.

created an account with us before emailing us asking to reserve these plants.
Once we receive confirmation from Borneo Exotics that the plants are reserved,
we will send you the order totals.

for a price for the plant. Please note that we do not receive
discounts on individual plants. Also, the freight charges to import a single
plant ranges from about $3.50 for small plants to about $7 for medium
plants, and from $15-$40 for large plants.
