I have provided all kinds of arms and armour & military collectibles to customers all around the world! featured antique military items  Tula smallsword, cut steel - Russian This sword (almost identical to one I sold to a Moscow dealer) has an unsigned Tula hilt - undercut and pierced steel work of this type is a virtual 'signature', only found on European cast silver hilts and never on the knuckle bow. The influence for this work is probably Brescian or possibly Toledo, with London for the lattice work. £2000.00  ADD TO CART  1788 pattern Light Cavalry officer's sabre - British This splendid sabre, with much of its original lead polish finish to the blade and most of its original campaign blacking to the scabbard, was formally introduced in 1788, but in all probability had actually seen service from the early 1770s. This particular hilt is a direct copy of the 1768 pattern Austrian trooper's type. £750.00 ADD TO CART  Luftwaffe officer's summer peak cap - German This is a nice example, with its celluloid diamond intact and the silver print lettering, 'Sterndruckfrei / Deutschereichspatent'. It has a calf leather sweat band. It has a detachable white top, similar in construction to the white top navy cap of the same ilk. £650.00 ADD TO CART  Indonesian powder horn - Indonesian This fine horn shows a strong European influence, principally Scottish, in the manner in which the flutes are carved the length of the piece and the evidence of Celtic strapwork. It might date to the early years of the 18th century and is almost certainly buffalo horn. £360.00 ADD TO CART  Wehrmacht (navy) tunic, model 1944 - German This tunic, similar to the pattern used by U-boat crews, was based on the British battledress tank top of the same era. It was also used by Coastal Artillery units in Normandy and by Kriegsmarine boat crews as a general working jacket. £350.00 ADD TO CART a little history on my antiques interest I have been a collector of military antiques since the age of 12, starting with bayonets and moving gradually on to swords, finally entering the broader military antique dealing arena in about 1970. At that stage, I rapidly started to learn about antique English pistols and revolvers. In about 1980, I broadened my dealing coverage from mainstream militaria to include English campaign medals. The arrival of powerful auction houses in this field drove me back to my original interest in general militaria (swords, bayonets, dirks, guns, pistols, etc). However, I still maintain a lively interest in all military objects, especially the rare and exotic, eg Imperial Russian and Austrian. Throughout my dealing career, I have built up my personal collection of antique military prints and drawings and a substantial selection of early military photographs up to 1945, principally German and English.
