Now, I really enjoy going on hikes on Mingus Mountain, walking through Sycamore Canyon and Oak Creek, staring at the stars, moon and mountains and walking trails in Sedona, AZ. or wherever else I may find them, love walking around barefoot but learned quickly after moving here that it is not the wisest thing to do. Also love skateboarding, swimming, singing, the list goes on and on.......................... I am currently a self employed contemporary glass artist "lampworker" and also the manufacturer and supplier of Glow Glass products which are sold throughout the glass industry nationally and around the world (it's the stuff that makes glass glow-in-the-dark):) I make my living by selling my raw materials to the industry and my art to whoever takes a fancy to it............................................. Used to live in Berkeley, CA. years ago for those of you that remember; selling toys called "Swirlees" or "Poor man's version of a lava lamp" on Telegraph Avenue close to the University of California campus. (there's a little video at the bottom left of this page as I am sure, that unless were there, you'll have no idea what I'm talking about). lol....................................................... The majority of my life I have worked for myself with my own ideas as they come; some good, some not so; though most seem to work out for the best. I think the last "real job" I had (that I took at least somewhat seriously), was as sales manager for Knuckleheads Tobacco and Gifts in Gainesville when I was in my early twenties. (Yes, it was headshop no matter what we said back then!) I love to research any topic extensively until I have seen all sides of the story and come to an honest conclusion............................ I have lived here in Arizona for the last 5ish years and am ready for a change of scenery and society. Now I am ready to move on to the next great adventure and path, whatever that may be, wherever it may lead.............. I enjoy making glass in unconventional ways just to see if it can be done. Experimentation is where my strength lies in this medium. I actually enjoy the many failures necessary to achieve success. It makes me appreciate the successes when they occur, even more..................... When not "working" I enjoy making glass beads and marbles over the torch in the Italian tradition and am getting back into making small blown borosilicate vessels and marbles as well......................................................I have met many wonderful artists who have become like friends and family to me over the years. Without each one of them, I never would have gotten this far. Wouldn't some of these look awesome with your glow powders? kinda like a take-off on blacklight posters. I made all of the background images and on the slideshows myself.
