Cloud Rest Coffee - Arabica Hawaiian Coffee from Kau     Home Order Our Coffee Coffee Links Ka`u History Fan Club   We all do better after that first cup!   Hawaiian Coffee from Ka`u MOA`ULA KA`U CLOUD REST COFFEE THE VERY BEST FROM KA'U "Wake up to the taste and aroma of aloha" with this fine, 100% freshly roasted Hawaiian coffee. A Special Message from Jimmy & Lisa Dacalio If you wish to place an order for this fine coffee please call us or e-mail us at orders@KauCoffee.com or use our convenient Order Form We are happy to announce a new line of coffee called, JOHN BULL COFFEE. NEWS! Our wonderful pets get to help us sell coffee at the Vista Center We are very excited about the crop yield this year, 2011/2012, a bit more rainfall: we still pick just enough to supply what we anticipate for the year's sales.. there is never enough, and as Christmas comes, the picking and harvesting is supplying for the next year; as April approaches, everything is picked and we settle in through the summer and spring, yet to start another season . .hauling over to Kona, the parchment/green: we gather our thoughts, our orders, and pick enough for what anticipated sales will be...It's a very costly business, as picking, and agricultural needs do require knowledge and Jimmy is very good at this part. Me, the marketer, I just ask questions and state how sales are going . . off we go to Kona to mill thousand pounds at a time; and your orders decide how much we roast weekly - the internet is marvelous and a good tool for freshness; what we see in orders is what we roast; ; ; ; so far, so good, this our 14th year in coffee . . . Your enthusiasm for Ka'u coffee is keeping Jimmy and I very busy, - a mom and pop operation here on the southern tip of Big Island. We thought retirement may give us bliss, but we never knew how wonderful meeting you roadside and providing home grown top notch coffee could be...(.at a reasonable price), we still remain honest and forthright in providing a great product at a great price...driving to Kona weekly to pick up our roast at Holualoa Kona Coffee Company; and has remained now, for years . . a great recipe for us and it appears to be for you as well! We Strive to provide a quality cup of coffee, at a reasonable (hmm) well, for the most part, reasonable 100% Hawaiian, Ka'u coffee with quality and smooth appeal . . kauroosterWe live at the 49.5 mile marker, approximately 19 miles south of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, and can be easily accessed with minimal signage, but "Coffee" clearly marked on our 3.5 acre farm, @1,450 elevation - amongst many fruit, vegetable, macadamia nut and coffee trees on Hwy 11, as you drive to the park, via Hilo (come 19 miles south ) or travel from Kona to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, on the belt Hwy 11 . . . stop by - John Bull is the name of our Oasis Vista Center, restroom, macadamia nuts, and no hassle/pressure sales . . come up to our house if you want to purchase a bag of our fresh coffee, or simply take a walk around our farm . . our hours vary, but we strive for 8:30 am to 5 pm Monday - Friday, Saturdays are optional, come up to the house or sample a cup of fresh brewed coffee at the gazebo. If the gate is closed, most likely we are out of supply . We are at Volcano farmer's market Sunday 5 am to 9 am....    -much aloha and mahalo, Jimmy and Lisa Dacalio   Oasis Our New Oasis Ka'u gazebo is located at 49.5 mile marker Mamalahoa Hwy 11.   Jimmy Even the boss gets to enjoy conversation sometimes at the Oasis . . . Jimmy Dacalio, local farmer, from sugarcane harvest to coffee bean production; this man never stops amazing me . . check out his fence and gate when you visit our Oasis; he's also a welder/fabricator . . great job Jimmy! (wife's comments of appreciation)     Jimmy got to take a vacation in June to San Francisco and Las Vegas; our first full-on vacation since we've been married and growing coffee.      drying coffee This is how coffee is dried after being picked after the 'red' cherry covering or skin was removed. Beans require up to 3 weeks to dry before ready to be hulled (parchment/ fingernail coating removed), then this green bean can be roasted. These drying tables are used when the coffee picking season begins in September through March, when that final bean is harvested. Our hot house has twelve drying tables and this overflow sundrying table outside at our Pahala home. Lisa Lisa selling coffee at Volcano's Sunday farmer's market.     Jimmy Dacalio, Farmer Lisa Dacalio, Manager Cloud Rest Coffee P.O.
