What's your favorite species to catch in our part of Colorado?
Native Colorado River Cutthoats on dries far from any golf courses or highways! They're the only fish that really belongs here.
Brookies out of area beaver ponds! Keep a bunch of 8 inchers and fry them up in a pan!
Gator Browns on 5 inch streamers on the Colorado! Watch out they'll take a chunk out of your thumb if you let them.
Wild Rainbows from the Eagle. An eighteen incher and you've got your hands full for a while.
How about Pike out of Stagecoach Reservoir-they eat trout for lunch.
Gotta love the five pound whitefish in the Roaring Fork. They're especially fun when hooked in the butt!
When it comes to floating what kind of boat is your smooth ride?
A drift boat is the Cadillac of float fishing, and if you've got a rower worth a fistful of stimulators you won't get your feet wet.
A well set up raft is like the Jeep Wrangler of boats. It'll go anywhere including big whitewater and down small rivers and side channels that would tear a drifty to shreds.
You gotta have both( if you can afford it) just stay away from the giant catarafts that are as wide as the Colorado River.
